Racism
Racism in America hasn’t disappeared. There is a lot of discrimination on
Mexicans and blacks. It is all racial profiling and it ties into the history of
slavery and the rising resentment against immigrants. What is the concept is
the concept of “race”? The concept of race remains unclear to many. No one
likes to be judged just by their ethnicity, race, or color. We as a country
need to stop judging people every time we see someone. Do not tell me you have
never judged someone because everyone does it.
What do we
know about racism? What is racism? Racism is the belief that all members of
each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race,
especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another races or

Dictionary. 1993. Print. It is a complex idea that has
shaped each of our destinies.
What would
happen if there was no more racism? Racism has caused so much violent and crime
in this world. Racial discrimination happens every day and hurts many. It
affects everyone either by bullying to even gangs. You hear on the news almost every day about
racism. There are so many articled that you read about racism. The other day I
saw in the news paper, “Man killed because of his race!” That is scary.
One of the
problems is people always assume that if you are from a certain race you either
won’t succeed or your only job should be working out in the fields. I have seen
this situation happen plenty of times. People disrespect Mexicans all the time
and think that we cannot have a better job other then working out in the fields
or picking up after others like a maid or janitor. You should not judge someone for where they
come from. Judge someone by what they bring to the table.
No matter
where you go, there is going to be racism. At some point in your life, I am
sure you have racist. It is all in your thought process and how you were
raised. I know some parents wouldn’t let their kids play with other kids that
aren’t white. When you hear some trying to insult someone and they say “big
nose”, you instantly know they are talking about Jews. We are all taught differently and at a young
age and we carry that throughout our life which is part of the problem.
Racism
affects a lot of jobs which affects living. Some people don’t hire certain people
because they think that it is going to make the company look bad. The people
who mostly get affected are Mexicans and blacks. What usually happens is if you were to call
in for a job and stated a white name then they would be interested. What would
happen if you called and said a Hispanic name? Most likely they won’t be
interested. This has actually happened to one of my cousins. We are Hispanic
and she mentioned her last name which is Sanchez and they had said they don’t
have any more openings. She called back the next day and said a white last name
and they were interested. This is another reason why we Hispanics can’t get a
higher level job because this is happening and this shouldn’t be allowed.
Researching
racism was definitely something that I expected. Most articles were talking
about how racism affected certain groups and there was a lot of violent and
crime going on because of their race. The

of people would be looked down at and being denied access to certain things due
to their position in society. This annoys me ne to see people treat others like
they are non-existent or just trash like they do not matter.
I also found
that not only people are going to be denied for their race, but also because of
their race and how they appear. Meaning how tall, color of hair, skinny, and
how fat you are. A lot of people throughout the world are struggling because of
this. This is one of the big reasons why there is unemployment. Our economy is
harsh and isn’t going to change unless we are the change. Our community would
be so much better if we came together. Why can’t we be the same? Think of how
much easier and better life would be if we were actually equal.
One thing
that really caught my eye was the educational system here in the United States.
The system can deny equal access to the children and adults of color and their
background like if they are poor. I don’t find it fair how we aren’t granted
the same opportunity. People actually want to get somewhere in life and how
will we succeed if we don’t get chances too? it is like they are setting up for
failure. We are getting such a negative impact that at some point we just want
to give up. We need that extra push and guidance tot eh right path. You would
think that they would keep all the talk about racism and poverty out of school.
I don’t want my kids to be learning about the wrong things in school. School
should be teaching kids about the right things and how everyone is equal. You
never know what the next thing a teacher can be teaching children.
As I was
doing some more research, I saw a couple good articles that were positive. It
really caught my eye so I decided to keep reading. What I mean by positive is
that people are saying put an end to racism and want to actually do something
about it. They are motivating people to fight against racism. The articles
mention that people have a voice and they should use it. Everyone makes a
difference. They aren’t alone, fight for what is right.
Everyday I
see racism happen. It even happens to me especially because I am Latina. As a
Latina, people have personally told me I won’t get far. It motivates me to go
farther and to show those people that I will be successful. A lot of people
will say that they don’t see racism happen. It is an everyday thing. It is sad
to see this constantly and it just seems to be a normal thing.
Racism isn’t
only a big problem in the United States but also all over the world. In the
eastern side like Hong Kong and India are the least tolerant of neighboring
with a different race. Latin countries are the most tolerant of being
neighborly and friendly with different races. They are more welcoming.
Racial
discrimination and racism are on the uprising and becoming common throughout
the world. With the current global situation confirming the worst expectations
that mans worst tendencies are created in the womb. People all over the world

It’s not just in the
United States that people are being denied because of their color, but
everywhere around the world as well.
People are struggling to pay for bills or even to get food on their
plate for their family. If people aren’t helping getting those jobs then what
are we suppose to do? This world is becoming really scary because people are
afraid to speak up because they are afraid they will be judged.
While doing
research, I found out that in Asia racism is actually encouraged. They don’t care about the issues you have as
an individual. Division among class is
also a problem there. Global

defines who you are. You get judged by your appearance there in Asia. You have
no opportunity to identify yourself and become unique. Once you are seen as
someone with no money and have a bad job, you will be looked down too. You will
not be important.
I put some
deep thought into racism and how it everywhere. Why can’t we just stop this?
Have been not seen what kind of world we live in? We can be the change and make
it a better place for the future generations. I don’t care what other people
say but every person matters. Let’s teach kids at a young age to be kind to one
another and avoid hatred. Wouldn’t you want to live in a world where everyone
was equal? That would sure make me want to actually be in this planet. Respect
is a big key in life so make sure you give it even though sometimes it won’t be
given back to you. You want to be the bigger person.
I personally
want racism to end. If everyone makes a change and tries to stop racism, racial
discrimination won’t be around. Racial discrimination is definitely something
that can be ignored. Statistics show that racism is actually not as big in the
United States as it is in other countries. That makes me feel horrible inside.
I thought it was bad enough here! People are being bullied ever day because how
they look. Before you say a rude comment to someone, stop into their shows and
see what it is like to be looked down to and not have the chance to explain
yourself or show what you are capable of. Criticism happens on a daily basses
and you may not notice it. Step up for others if you see this happening.
If we stop
racism, it’s not going to happen overnight. It will slowly become a better
place to live if we make the change. We can change our habits in the help of
others. You never know what someone is capable of and they might surprise you. It’s
great to be different, but the way people see it is a bad thing. When someone
is different, people get jealous and try to drag them down. Don’t be that
person. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. You never know who you are inspiring.
Even though
racism has a high chance of ending, don’t stop trying to make the change. Every
person makes a difference. Teach children right and accept people by who they
are. We can all unite together and it would be a better place to live in.
