Is America still the land of oppertunity?...

Today in class, we had the journal topic which was "is America in 2014 the land of oppertunity, or is it a rigged game that favors the wealthy?". In my opinion,  America is still the land of oppertunity today. Yes money plays a huge role in today's society but when you're passionate about something it wound stop you from achieving your goals. At a young age, we have people asking us what do we want to be when we grow up and I believe the reason they ask us at a young age is because they want to teach us that we can do what we want if we put effort in it cause in America, we have a lot of freedom so there really isn anyone who can stop is from doing what we want to do. (Unless you're doing something illegal).
